Crystalslist: The Best of the Best Summer Skydiving Boogies in the USA! | By Crystal Sanchez

I’ve spent more than 70 hours in the last month sifting through 220 USPA drop zone websites, mining their Facebook pages and compiling the information. I’m calling the result Crystalslist because, why not? I’ve done all this work—I deserve a little credit—and I think it could be good branding in the future—I mean, look at how Craigslist is a household name?! For now, I’m calling all this effort a one-time gift to the skydiving community.

Thanks to the collaboration with Blue Skies Magazine, I present to you, my sky junkie family, MY list, of every awesome boogie happening this summer in the United States—all in one place. And because there is only so much space in the printed edition of BSM, you can find my complete list (with more than 30 additional boogies) online at crystalslist.org/.

7 Brands Doing It Differently in 2018 | James La Barrie +Dropzone Marketing+}

This year, seven industry brands have captivated my attention because they’re choosing to operate differently than the status quo. With each company, I’m feeling a passion that’s driving change and a hunger to be different from their market competitors.

Tie-Breaking Drama – Forward into the Past +Turning Points+ | Kurt Gaebel, NSL

The FAI/IPC law makers apparently still did not like the rules they had applied since 2014, as they changed the tie-breaking procedure again at the beginning of this year. It did not catch my attention, as I did not expect a step backward in time. Only the latest tie-breaking situation at FAI’s new European Indoor Championships in Norway made me wonder what was going on.

The Pilot Bail Out | The Fuckin’ Pilot

He, along with Justin, my also newly licensed 200-jump wonder and chief pilot; Joe a longtime jump pilot and tandem instructor; Jackson, still in my opinion the best tandem instructor breathing and longtime jump pilot; and I will shortly have the opportunity to get 5 out of six pilots onboard a flying aircraft to jump the fuck out to enjoy the hell out of what is, to most pilots, the least natural thing one can do.

The Mona Lisa | Melanie Curtis

If life is one big blank canvas available to us every single day and we GET to put whatever we want on that canvas, I call us to the courage we’ve learned and earned jumping out of airplanes. To look at that blank canvas of our lives, our relationships, our work, our goals, our hearts, everything and ask ourselves … what do I really want to create? Then go for it, knowing funneling is just as fun and worthwhile as the Mona Lisa of 4-way.

Dear SkyGod

But once in a while a marketing ploy comes along that twists SkyGod’s nipples just right.
